Andrew Getraer

Andrew Getraer is Executive Director of Hillel at Rutgers University, serving the largest Jewish undergraduate population in the US. Under his leadership Rutgers Hillel has been transformed from a longstanding but under-performing organization into one of the most successful Hillels in the country, increasing revenues and student engagement by over 500%, and building a new, state-of-the-art 40,000 SF facility, the largest in the country.

With over two decades working with post-high school students and young adults from a wide variety of backgrounds, Andrew has significant experience in fundraising, non-profit management, and strategic-planning.




Prior to his career in Jewish communal service Andrew was marketing director for an inter- national renewable energy corporation and a producer at NBC News. He is a member of the NJ-Israel Commission, and a board member of the American Jewish Committee-Central NJ.

He served six years on the Board of Governors of the Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva, helping to rewrite the school bylaws, governance and operations. He has received numerous awards personally and on behalf of Rutgers Hillel from Rutgers University, Hillel International, American Jewish Committee, Hadassah, Israel National Defense College, and others.
